Our partners and stakeholders play a critical role in helping us deliver the MSA Program. We work with Traditional Owners, local government, universities, government agencies, not-for-profits, research organisations and others to secure some of the best remaining habitat around Melbourne's outskirts and protect our unique plants and animals.
The Victorian Government recognises and values Traditional Owners’ intrinsic connection to Country and their vast knowledge of land management. DEECA is committed to Aboriginal self-determination, cultural safety, and working in partnership with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians, as outlined in Pupangarli Marnmarnepu / Owning Our Future Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy 2020-2025.
We are committed to building strong and meaningful partnerships with First Peoples' groups. They are our trusted partners and advisers with deep and enduring cultural, spiritual, and economic connections to land and water – this relationship with Country underpins everything they do.
We also work with:
- Parks Victoria
- Arthur Rylah Institute
- Melbourne Water
- Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne
- La Trobe University
- Monash University
- Trust for Nature
- Wyndham City Council
- Hume City Council
- Melton City Council
Thank you
We thank these organisations for their expertise and help. Together, we will continue to work in partnership to protect nature around Melbourne.
